DAY 2. - FIRST TIME IN ROMANIA
The plan to leave at 9 AM didn't work out at all and when we finally get out of bed it's like 10 o'clock and it's obvious we won't ride any sooner than in the afternoon. Theres another 350 kms to the Romanian Timisoara ahead. The only clue of what's this city like is a single spot picture we have in the phone and that's all we know. The spot's sick though!!
We are easily getting to the Romanian borders where situation sudenly turns upside down. The crossing seems like it's abandoned for years and the only sign that it works is a group of cops hailing at us that we are for sure being checked. Theres a van of some French gipsies infront of us who suspiciously began to walk around their car showing us to get ahead. It was obvious they were not really happy about the security check too. After all the hussle we easilly passed through, paid like a 3 EUR highway fee and we were on our way. From this moment we expect no highways and rough roads only.
And it actually is rough! The road getting more and more destoyed and we are trying to figure out if this was a good idea. We passed through the Romanian countryside meeting countless of local farmers by the road trying to sell whatever they have managed to grow. literally selling just one piece of veggie like a pumpkin, zuchini etc.. Sudenly phone's ringing and we are being contacted by the local crew from Timisoar who found out we are passing by, amazing! We are being offered support and everything gets way easier from now on.
When we arrive to Timisoar we realising it is a pretty nice town with an atmosphere that is hardly diferent from Czech Republic. We met a local crew who instantly giving us advice to ride local indoor skatepak which they take care of. Basically the city councill is renting them a big hall where they are trying to build up some obstacles DIY style. That was not what we were looking for though so we only stopped by to have a look and been on our way to the usual spot hunting mission.
The first spot is this sick looking square with a lot of things to try. We are getting stucked here for hours until Tydla, Jirka and Michal getting the clip. FInally we showed up our picture with a spot cuz we really want to ride it. The local say it's awesome yet impossible to ride because you get kicked out within a minute. Couple of more spots later we are ending up the sesion at this park with a sick ledge spot and the well spend day is slowly coming to it's end.
With the upcoming dusk the question of where we gonna sleep toning was answered quickly by everyone want to sleep in their tents in whatever camp we'll find. The locals gives us advice on this place a couple of minutes out of town so I am instantly calling there asking what's the situation. Everything seems ok and theres barely any people in. That suits us the best and we are launchin barbacue party right after we came in. It turned out to be the whole night thing with everyone staying awake till early morning hours. It is a sure thing that our plan to leave early is not hapening once again.
