Christmas holidays are slowly coming to your doors and now comes the moment we would like to farewell with 2016 and start welcoming 2017. Before it starts all over again, let`s have a look back at the ups and downs of 2016 in TBB-BIKE crew.
WE ARE GOING INTERNATIONAL
This year was a bit groundbreaking as we have gone international and after more than 20 years on the Czech and Slovak bmx market decided to start offering our services all over the european union. This wasn`t easy step with a lot of hard work and barriers we had to cross. However, we believe that all the hard work pays off and this will help us to grow again.
TBB-BIKE CREW
When the spring has arrived we took our young guns and headed for a week to the one and only Barcelona to let them show what they`ve got. Jiri Blabol has gone worldwide by becoming a member of two of the biggest bmx companies Subrosa brand and Shadow conspiracy. Even though Jirka is one of the youngest, he is being the leader of our crew with his aggresive riding style and bag of tricks no one else has. We hope 2017 is going to be even better for him and wish him luck.
As we have gone international we though it`s the right time to start supporting international riders too. So we have added the Romanian shredder Raul Jula to the team and helped him continue on his progression path. Raul is well aware of his position doing his best to give something back and already produced a little welcome edit plus sick park mix we were stoked to release. Unfortunatelly for Raul he had two consecutive injuries which slowed him down. But now he is back in the game and you are going to hear a lot about him in 2017 for sure.
As usually Michal Smelko has been travelling a all over the europe with the Federal team and you could have seen him being a part of most of their projects. Federal crew have come to his homeland of Czech Republic too, visiting Prague and Brno. Michal has suffered a major injury during the Prague street jam, which put him down for rest of the season. Now he is already getting back on his bike and hopefully will be back 100% soon.
BLOGGING
Even our blog has gone through the big change in 2016, mainly thanks to our editor team consisting of Tomas Carda, Simon Cechura and Martin Hoza. When right people cooperate the job is always much easier and these guys are the proof. Their passion for bmx have no limits and they`re always trying to bring you the hottest news from the world of bmx such as latest product specifications, videos, reports, throwbacks and of course everything from our own production. Praise them all for what are they doing and may the bmx gods give them power to keep it up.
We also have to mention our team photographer and real enthusiast Milan Tykal, because there would be no quality material coming out your way without him. Nearly every riding picture from our trips and sessions we are sharing on our social media sites are taken by Milan and we are super happy to work with such a positive dude who is always down to shoot if he has a bit of spare time.
COMPETITIONS
Besides running the team of riders, We are also trying to support couple of events and help the scene grow. No matter whether it`s park, street or dirt action, If we find it intersting and organizers get in touch with us soon enough, we will always try to help them out. Couple of supported events in 16 to mention are Czech bmx dirt championship in Pohorelice, L.E.S. trails jam, Charity jam, Czech bmx miniramp championschip or 9th round of the contest for all beginner riders this year extented for PRO riders too. Street dogs were given two amazing street jams, first in Piestany, Slovakia and second in Prague.
LOST IN SERIES
Undoubtedly the biggest and most important event of 2016 was LOST IN SERIES in cooperation with Monster Energy. Thanks to this cooperation our crew had a chance to visit 4 interesting destinations and ride it`s streets alongside some of the monster energy riders. This project is a huge success making us realise that even a small country in the heart of europe may have a global impact if the right group of people link up. Huge thank you goes to Monster Energy and to the whole team for everything they are doing to keep this thing going.
HOMEBOYS LIVIN
After the rough winter it`s always tempting to go somewhere abroad seeking the good weather and spots to ride. And that`s exactly what we did in 2016 as well as the year before. This time we have called a week in Lisbon and acompanied by the group of friends from around Czech Republic, we have enjoyed an exciting week full of riding and good times in general. I`m sure most of us are still reminding themselves about the great times we had.
We would like to thank to all of our friends and customers, without whose none of what we are doing would be possible. Thanks to all riders participating in our events or just for watching our production. Only you guys are the reason we continue on working hard and doing our best to make not only our own production, but the whole bmx scene better. Thank you homeboys. Merry christmass and may the next year bring you nothing but happiness and success. See you in 2017.
